Helen Weston is a British born artist, designer and educator. Her artistic practice tracks a path through fine art, craft and design. She has been producing sculptural objects, bespoke floor designs and teaching Constructed Textiles to undergraduate and post graduate students for nearly two decades. Currently a professional member of Crafts Ontario and previously a member of two UK based professional artistic groups: The 62 Group of Textile Artists and the Newlyn Society of Artists. She has exhibited extensively in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Holland, and Japan. Her work has been included in various print publications (‘Radical Threads’,’ Textile Perspectives in Mixed Media Sculpture’) and numerous catalogues as well as online magazines. Most recently her sculptural work has featured in an E-book; ‘Textiles Re:Imagined’. She holds an MA Art Policy and Management from Birkbeck College, University of London (UK), MA Textile Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London (UK) and a BA (Hons) in Industrial Textile Design from The Scottish College of Textiles (SCOT) - Heriot Watt University (UK). She is based in Toronto, relocating from London, England in 2015.
